Good stories.
Useful things.
I’m Jay Yerxa, a designer and photographer in Portland. Timberline is where I turn curiosity into creative work.

What I do
What can
we make?
A set of photos worth keeping, a website, an app, or a podcast. I bring the same care to the details in each.

01Photography
Photographs can tell a story, show your work, or hold onto a moment. I work across a range of subjects and projects, bringing a designer’s eye to composition, light, and the details that make an image.
Looking for team and game photos?02Website design & creation
I design and build websites that explain what you do, feel like you, and help visitors find what they came for. Content, visual identity, and the way the site works get attention together.
03App design & creation
I turn ideas into apps with a focus on the people using them. That starts with what the app needs to do, then moves through the screens, interactions, and a working build that we can put to use and refine.
04Podcast & video production
I produce podcasts in audio and video, bringing the sound and picture together so people can settle into the conversation. The goal is a show that feels as good to watch as it does to hear.

Behind Timberline
Hi, I’m Jay.
I’m a senior product designer, photographer, and maker based in the Pacific Northwest.
In my design work, I look at the whole experience: what someone is trying to do, how each step connects, and where things become harder than they need to be. That perspective shapes the work I make through Timberline.
Timberline gives me room to follow that curiosity across photography, websites, apps, and production. I like being close to the work, from an early idea to the small details that make it feel finished.
Away from the desk, you’ll often find me at my daughters’ games, riding dirtbikes, or getting outside in the PNW. Mount Hood is part of the inspiration behind Timberline’s name and artwork.
